About George:
George Mellendorf is an independent insurance agent that specializes in products that meet or exceed expectations at the time of utilization.  He represents multiple financial products and companies in order to find the best value for each client.  His product portfolio includes; long-term care insurance, linked-benefits, Medicare supplement, life insurance, critical illness and annuities.  He has been an agent for over 30 years and fully understands the impact of not having proper planning in place.  The emotional and financial toll can be devastating to families.  He is licensed and in compliance in all 50 states. 

George is a Vietnam Veteran, originally from Port Huron, MI.  Now, he and his wife, Sally split their time between Fort Gratiot, MI and Fort Myers, FL.  He enjoys photography, traveling and spending time with his children and grandchildren. 

George started his insurance career in 1974.  He was District Manager for Combined Insurance Company.  In 1979, he ventured on his own and started Central States Insurance Services, Inc. to which is still a thriving agency today. His office responsible for over $60 million in earned premium dollars and millions of claims dollars being paid.

He created and authorized the first Buyer’s Guide to Nursing Home Insurance in 1986. This guide was a joint effort with BC/BS of Michigan, Department of Insurance, Senator Sandy Levin’s office and Governor Blanehard’s office to aging department. 

He has worked side by side with major insurance carriers on the development of new products.  He is a member of the Health Care Association of Michigan, National Long-Term Care Network, American Association for Long-Term Care Insurance and the Financial Planning Association.  He holds the CLTC, Certified in Long-Term Care and the LTCP, Long-Term Care Professional designations.  Each of these designations requires extensive training in all aspects of planning and is widely respected in the industry.
